Dutch Design Week 2025 in Eindhoven attracted 355,000 visitors to 120 venues across the city — a 12% increase on 2024 — with the 'Beyond Growth' theme presenting projects exploring post-growth economic models, degrowth design strategies, and community-owned design commons.
Director Martijn Paulen said the theme 'reflects a maturing of the design discourse — younger designers are no longer asking how to make consumption more sustainable but whether consumption itself is the right frame for design.' The week's most visited installation was a temporary public bathhouse designed by a Rotterdam collective using entirely salvaged materials, open free of charge to all Eindhoven residents.
